operations notes 3 1litre diet and exercises

Because of valve leak, need to control water intake.
Cooking by maid - need to inform her that salt content needs to be less. Very important. Cannot have food be too salty otherwise you will drink more water which is not good.
Medications take everyday without missing it. Medicine packing, pharmacist will give the most recent list and you can match it with the medicines at home so follow most recent one.
Take medications as prescribed upon discharged.
Need to be aware how you will feel if too much water is in the body. As you can go n see the doctor earlier to avoid any heart failure and going hospital

Breathless, cannot lie flat to sleep, sleep halfway getting up, drowning sensation, walk too far have to stop halfway, tummy distended and bloated. Feel like wind, can’t eat anything feel very full, very gassy. Legs swell and weight increase. All these symptoms won’t come all together at the same time. If all symptoms together then you waited too long must go hospital. Bits and pieces of these feelings (mild), then see the clinic and heart center earlier to prevent you from going into hospital. Important to see this.

Cut down salt/seasoning, if you eat out don’t put as much gravy, don’t put additional sauce like chilli ketchup. Can or bottle sauce watch it to avoid salt. Instant food items are very salty, cut down.

Water intake- 1.2L everyday including food soup porridge tea etc. You can estimate but you need to track your water intake and cut down on the total daily liquid intake. Get a bottle to measure eg 500ml bottle. Max 2 per day. As good will have water too.
Sip water don’t drink whole glass.

Medicine- will help to increase heart function.
Blood pressure- monitor your BP at home so it’s not too low/high. Can go polyclinic and see

Don’t stop medicines on your own unless doctor tells you.

Heart muscle pumping is weaker, will be harder to push blood and water out of the heart.

Any issues book appt at heart center to see doc. If no appt then go polyclinic first. Don’t hesitant see doctor.
